Sioux City Prickly Pear Soda
Bring the Old West to the New East with this unique beverage! For not being a soda enthusiast, I am shocked I like Sioux City’s Prickly Pear soda.
The wild flavor is what originally drew me to trying it’s sweet nectar. (Prickly Pear fruit is absolutely delicious when in season!)
Your Sioux City Prickly Pear Soda Experience:
After a quick Google search on Prickly Pears, you hope that the spines were removed. Those buggers hurt!
After chilling the soda for some time, you twist the cap off to watch the “smoke” whirl it’s way out of the bottle. It resembles the gun smoke from the Wild West gunslingers! Nifty.
The sweet smell and dancing smoke entertainment invites you to take a sip. Immediately, you smile from ear to ear. You quietly think to yourself, “Hints of strawberry, raspberry… holy mother of Prickly Pear! This is almost like candy!”
A belch (or two) may arise due to the carbonation. “No worries, at least it smells good,” you utter under your breath.
Before you know it, the drink is 80% gone.
But hey, what’s that?
With the beverage level being so low, a rearing horse and cactus is revealed in the background of the logo. YEEHAW!
You just drank the last sip. Time to buy more!
Would I Buy Sioux City Prickly Pear Soda Again?
It would also be a really neat wedding favor for that rustic themed wedding or for a Wild West birthday party.
I originally bought mine at Cost Plus World Market.
